Hippity Hoppity!

Everyone seemed to HOP into town just in time for Easter. Grandma NoNo returned from 3 weeks in Eastern Europe...

and Pop and Snappy cruised in from their month-long American road trip!

We hosted an egg-cellent egg coloring at our casa...

and when the kids awoke the next morning, that big funny bunny had filled their baskets with treats and nibbled their snacks!

Davis scoured our yard for eggies...

And somehow the kids ate giant chocolate rabbits for breakfast? (I spy a guilty grandma... ;)

We ended the day binging on brunch at the Franklins house! YUM!!!! The icing on the cake would have been a fab family photo, but how do you stay poised while wrangling two tots hopped up on sugar?

Hip hop it don't stop! Dylann's First Easter was a perfect romp!

Cozy Clothes

Davis is obsessed with being "cozy" which when added to his budding self-assured decision making skills equals wearing pajamas all day long.

When I ask him to pick out his clothes for the day, he simply brings me "cozy pajamas mom!" with the hugest happiest smile. Clean clothes is a broad phrase and since these are technically clean as well as clothes, I guess they fit the bill! Even if we are at the park, or running errands, or washing the car...

I'll take a pj-clad scrubber any day of the week!

Life's A Beach

This beach season really is looking up! We've had some spectacular Spring weather and I'm finally getting the hang of how to handle 2 sandcrabs! Dig a giant hole. Bring tons of toys. Invite your friends and cousins. Drinks are crucial (and I mean juice boxes not gin!). Oh, and don't fret when sand is consumed... It will eventually make its way out. Yikes!

Beach bums abound!

Dylann Loves Dogs

She really does. Anytime she sees one, she points and laughs and..... growls. Yes, our darling baby girl growls. Like, alot. Guess that's what happens when you are raised with a rowdy older brother... ?

Flu Fairy

There is one person who will always come to my rescue, and that is KATE!

Sunday night, after such a fantastic weekend, I came down with a GNARLY flu. Sick city + 2 kids = total hell! Kate, without hesitation, came to save me, taking Davis for the day and stocking our fridge with supplies. Thank goodness for Kate! No seriously, THANK GOODNESS FOR KATE!!!! My kids love her, my husband loves her and I love love LOVE her!!!!

Hot Cross Buns

Not much cuter than a brown baby sitting on her buns...

HitchHIKE

Wow, I've been a terrible blogger. Clearly we have had WAY too much fun (and not so fun flu...) going on over here. After 2 days of too much beach sun (and sunburn) baby Dylann and I wanted to hide inside so Tim took Davis on a hike in the State Park. Tim packed up Davis' backpack with supplies (please note the flashlight) and got him suited up for their big outting. He took this pic on his phone and sent it out, so proud of his adventuring heir!

As Davis gets bigger, he and Tim have this boy connection that Dylann and I just don't get, hee hee... It's kind of fun being an even 2-on-2 - While Dylann and I brush our hair and paint our nails (ha!) Tim and Davis are hitched together hiking the homeboy trail!

Catch Me If You Can

After promising a fish for Davis during our last trip, Grandpa Ho Ho had to prove he could reel in a rainbow trout for his grandson. So, during our weekend in Paso Robles, surprisingly (hee hee), he did!

I've never seen a more beautiful fishing spot... And I've never seen Davis so afraid of these fish!

Eventually he warmed up to their wiggling and pulled in THREE total trout! Davis is a mini outdoorsman and loves to run wild up at the ranch. We had so much fun fishing with the fam!

Momma Runs a Marathon

Sometimes a mom needs to give herself a pat on the back, so here it goes... Way to go Colleen! Ha!!!

This weekend I ran the Paso Robles Wine Country Half Marathon during our visit to see Tim's fam (more on that later) - 13.1 miles + an iPod + scenic vineyards = Heaven! I guess all that training pushing this semi-truck sized stroller stuffed with silly kids...

...did me good! I beat my time goal and finished the race in 1 hr 48 mins averaging 8:15/mile! WOO HOO!

The best part of the race? My cheering squad at the finish line! Thanks for all the support guys!!!

I'm The Youngest

Davis definitely pulls older brother rank on Dylann, so it's no wonder she asserts her position on baby Luke, just 9 months younger than our gal...

The tactical eye poke wakes 'em every time! Sorry Lukie...

Get Your Jog On!

When the option came to sponsor Kyle in her school jog-a-thon, there was no doubt we'd pledge a lil money for the cause, but we'd also be there to cheer on our girl!

Check out this sporty shorty! Get your jog on Miss Kyle!

And let me just say this girl RAN HER HEART OUT. She ran 3 times the amount of laps Kate anticipated, and had a smile on her face the entire time!!!

We are so impressed with not only your athletic ability, but even more so at the genuinely sweet, caring and fun girl you are. Be it jogging, joking, drawing or describing, we love to watch you grow!

Go for the gold Kyle!

Bow-Tied Beauty

Oh my all-in-white wiggle wormette, it's hard to keep your curiosity still and your head properly bow'd...

Life is just too fun and your smile truly is the only accessory you need my goofy, gorgeous gal :)

Volleyball Stud!

My cousin Kendall is a volleyball stud! We watched her play in a tournament today and this girl is a powerhouse!

The D's were inspired by all the athleticism and energy and were quite, well, ACTIVE. Davis ran circles around the convention center and Dylann would just not give us a break, but Kendall's team won (yay!) and I got to feel short since volleyball girls are just plain TALL. And Davis loved Big Uncle John, who gave him the best seat in the house ;)

An added bonus? Dylann clapped for the 1st time during the match and mimicked us, pointing at everything and everyone!
