Duke & Daisy

 

 Davis has been begging for a pet for quite some time. He duly notes every single human he knows that owns a pet almost every day (Yes, if you have a pet, surely he has mentioned your name). So I took the kids to the pet shop and let them each pick out a fish.

 

 The deal was that once we leave for our Hawaii vacation, then Duke (the orange one) & Daisy (the spotted one) have to live in our outside fountain... Until Davis asked what they'd eat living in that fountain and I started to wonder the same thing? And I started to feel bad for the fish :(

 

 

 Then Davis suggested that our friend "Taryn could babysit the fish because she already has TWO pets mom and really likes animals"

 

 

 So we carted the fish over to her house last night and fingers crossed these two finned friends are happy and kickin' when we get back ;)

 

   THANK YOU to our first fish-sitter, Taryn! We owe ya one!!

Now Get To Work!

Summer has been, well, SUMMER. Lazy dazy hazy ol' Summer... Until now! Davis has been asking Tim what he does at work and where his office is so this morning Davis got a dose of 9 to 5... It started with an early wake-up call + shower + a collared shirt, then the commute up the toll road, followed by an office tour and of course the best part of the morning: croissants and hot cocoa in the lobby ;)

 

After I picked up Davis I drilled him on his "work day" and he said some pretty funny stuff:

 

"I met Dad's work friends, Cesar and Dave... I think they like my Dad"

"Dad had a picture of me at his desk when I was a baby and one of you Mom... You were standing in front of a door doing a funny smile"

"When I start working in 2 years I am going to sit at the desk right behind my Dad"

Don't go off to work too quickly Mr.!

 

This Ain't My First Rodeo...

Believe it or not, The OC has an annual rodeo! Giddy-up! And rodeo-watching proved to be pure entertainment: Bucking broncos, team roping and bull riding kept the kids FOCUSED and cheering at the Rancho Viejo Rodeo this past weekend!

 

 Their Dubost country kicked in full gear (yes, you can be proud of that Ted & Sarah)! They even got her boots moving to the country music and took center stage on the dance floor... Yee haw!

One reason Summer is so great is because the weather is too nice to be inside blogging ;) The other reason it's so great is because we get to play with friends that have a work-free Summer, hooray! Kim + Addie + Reese + Baby #3 came to beach it with us and these post-shower/sand scrub down pics make me smile - The kids truly love each other (hence the smooching at the end of the sequence...)

Cheers to these last few weeks of sunny Summer!

Mission Accomplished!

Pop & Snappy treated us to a weekend at the Hilton Mission Bay - WHAT A TREAT! Water abound, we spent our days at the pool and paddling in the bay, our nights watching the fireworks over SeaWorld and eating like royalty... What more could you ask for?

 

Thank you SOOOOO much Mom and Dad for a more-than-memorable weekend escape!
