Memorial Day

WHAT A WEEKEND.

There was no shortage of celebrating over here - We beached it for 5 hours Friday, saw Glee Live in LA at the Staples Center Saturday (Awesome!!!!), hopped over to the Fornellis for a bbq Sunday, then hit the beach all day Monday for Memorial Day! The weather was sunny and bright, but Dylann's forecast was crabby! After a nap on top of me under the umbrella, things perked up and the rest of the afternoon was all smiles!

Hope your Memorial Day was memorable! We are still recouperating from all the fun :)

Pillow Pile and Goofy Smiles

Last night we had Kyle and Emmi over and it was plain FUN. We played bubbles, wrestled, taught Dylann how to climb up and down from the couch, colored our brains out and watched Tangled in a giant pillow pile! These goofy kids... I could watch them endlessly!

2 Dubosts + 2 Franklins = FOURtimes the FUNNY!

Park Pretty

I'm used to chasing a boy at the park, one who climbs and comes home covered in dirt, so today, when we met Dylann's bestie Kevy at the park, it was fun to see pretty little girls pal around and play sweetly in the swings :)

And because I love him so, here's the climber in action!

ChicagOOOHHH!

Spring weather, tulips bursting, dining out oohs and architecture aahs! This girls trip was packed with rolling laughter, a whopping amount of shopping and fabulous friends. Kate, Skyler and I represented Cali while Erin and Sarah brought the Cincinnati on ;)

The shopping was hands down THE BEST I've witnessed. Not to mention that I had THE BEST (and strangest) shopping luck EVER. I found a purse originally marked at $108, rang up at $13.79! WHAT?! A dress marked originally at $255 rang up at $24.99!!! An $89 sweater for $8! It was honestly a joke.

And yes, we did do our fair share of sightseeing... An architectural boat tour and Millenium Park ;)

We all came home giggled out, cocktailed out and with suitcases crammed with treasure!

Oh Chicago! How much do I love thee!! But more importantly... Where are we going next ladies?????

No Place Like Home

Chicago, simply put, was A BLAST and a much-needed selfish trip for ol' Mom (I'll post some pics once I get my hands on them ;) However, it was SO FUN to see Tim and the kids at the airport and squeeze their little faces off!!! I was shocked at how fresh and sweet and wide-eyed and just plain CUTE these kids looked as we drove home! It's amazing what a few days away does to your perspective, especially as a stay-at-home mom who sees these bugs from sun-up to sun-down, and let me say, I've been eating them up since I got my arms back around them.

Tonight Davis and I were coloring and for the first time ever, without help, he drew people! When I asked him who it was he said "Me and my mom" - US, ME AND HIM, and my heart still feels full and happy and just plain content. That boy!!! There truly is no place like home...

Suitcase Sweetheart

Clearly she's sad I'm leaving for Chicago today... She obviously wants to go on the trip with me...

Sorry sweet Dylann! Momma is off to The Windy City for a girls weekend with Auntie Kate... I promise to bring you back one hell of a souvenir love! XO

Raymond's Revenge!

Ted, Sarah and cousin Raymond stayed over after Dylann's party and the kids had THE BEST time. Davis officially got beat up by his cousin while Dylann dodged the chaos - These pics make me laugh out loud!!! Of course because it is usually Davis who is doing the torturing ;)

Raymond is scrappy and I love it! So fun to spend time with these guys :)

Daisy Dylann!

Party time girlfriend! We celebrated our growing gal with a garden-themed birthday lunch in her honor and Daisy Dylann was the main event!

Everybody loves to sqeeze this gal...

Especially her spoiling/lovie/laughy Auntie Kate!

And she had a cheering section of kids rooting her on!

And because turning 1 is not a BIG enough deal in itself, we had to get the BIGGEST sandwich we could find. 6 feet to be exact. And we're still eating it!

The only person more excited for the birthday party than Dylann? Why Davis of course! He's been waiting for this day for a month!

The icing on the cake: Pink cupcakes, gifts galore and tomorrow?...

Disneyland with the Dubosts! Happy Birthday Dylann Jane! We love you more than you know!!!!

Donut Dylann

Happy Birthday to YOU!

We kicked off Dylann's birthday weekend with a mini party at where else but Surfin' Donuts! Every 1 year old (and 2, 3, 5 and 30 year old...) need a donut, right?! Our girl dove in and squished her donut to oblivion like a true one year old should!

The fun has just begun Birthday Girl!

Birthday Eve

Tomorrow our sweet baby girl turns ONE! Where did this year go? Dylann, you have filled this house and our hearts to the brim! We love your toothy grin, darling dimples and that hair that has transformed to blondie blond!

We love your growly, goofy, laughy, wiggly, curious, cutie self. Here's to ONE loved baby, ONE whirlwind year and ONE happy family :) Happy Birthday Eve Dylann Jane! XO

Flower Power

Davis loves flowers.

Well, he really loves to pick them. Which is sweet when it's out of our yard and he runs up saying "I picked this flower for you cause I love you!" but it's not so cute when it's at the neighbors or at Plant Depot nursery. So our outting today, to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, was a surprising success because Davis did not officially pick one flower! (but he did touch a few...)

For 2 whole hours we looked at all types of flowers. We got lost for the majority of the time in a sweet pea maze (hint: follow that tall man!)...

and we perused the tractors of course!

At the end, Dylann found her Home Sweet Home...

which I had to pry her out of like the big bad wolf - This girl already wants her own place!

Flowers, fresh air, funny kids and LOTS to grow on :)
