Oahu: Biking with Bahar

 

Bahar and I met at UC Davis... Go Ags! When we found out she moved to Wakiki I knew a visit with her would have to be added to our itinerary. She drove up to Turtle Bay for the day and we went on a crazy fun bike adventure - We found a monk seal and it's baby! We found a deserted cove made up of sea glass (mermaid tears are something our family collects and the kids were freaking out!). We had a fun day swimming, laughing and catching up in true Aloha-style ;)

Oahu: LuOWWWW!

To Luau or not to Luau, that is the question... The food can be sketchy, the dancing may be dull, but when 4 sets of eyes are seeing it for the first time, it just seems so much cooler! I actually liked the pork (but what didn't I like eating on vacation?), the kids were entranced by the dancing and we all were impressed by the fire dance show afterwards. We paddled in a canoe and did some exploring of the Polynesian Culture Center and as all should be in Hawaii, we got LEI-ed ;)

Oahu: Waimea Waterfall

 

Hiking through the botanical gardens in Waimea Valley was like hiking through a dream! Prehistoric plants, umbrella-sized water lillies, leaves bigger than a child! Add in misting rain, daggers of sunlight through the trees plus sprawling green grass and a babbling brook... The kids (and myself!) were filled with enthusiasm and awe! The icing on the cake? Swimming out to the falls at the end of the trail - How magical can this place get?

 

 

Oahu: Pool Party!

Turtle Bay was THE BEST place for the D's! The pools + slide = Nonstop underwater entertainment! Davis learned to dive and do a major cannon ball and mastered the slide while all kids got flipped, dipped and whipped by Dr. Adam...
