WE BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE! It has a forest in the front yard and a jungle in the back and here are the keys to this crazy, magical new place. WOAH. Just a few...
Well, it's not actually new and yes, it needs more work than the country's budget, but it's OURS and it's amazing! Tim and I fell in love with the dirt. Seriously, what's not to love about dirt! The new house has plenty of it and of course the D's are excited about that. Uncle Adam was most excited about the demolition of a fence and this is what I walked into one Sunday morning...
The good Doctor rallied the men and had that fence out in no time flat! Davis is the hardest worker of the bunch, hee hee. But seriously, he loves to go over and "work" - He has his own trimmers and for a 4-year old, is honestly super helpful! He has those Dubost genes like his Great Grandfather Ray no doubt!
So we started a "small" remodel and LOTS of tree trimming, only to find many charming surprises inside this old house... Think corroded pipes and asbestos. FUN! So what started as a face lift has now become something more like this:
I'll never forget when we met our neighbor for the first time. Dylann said "This is our new house!" with arms grandly gesturing to the humble abode, then finished with "It's broken."
Everytime we see a construction site, she says "Mom, is that the new house?" ;) And while Davis is at school we are spending every second in building supply stores and "Home Deeco" ;) This is definitely a lesson in construction and the house is a labor of love, but hopefully in early Spring we will officially be able to call it home!
Cheers to that! Of course more updates to come!
