Brainy

I can't believe this kid's head has not combusted with the amount of information he's soaking in! Seriously, everything is a question or a newly acquired fact or a funny statement - He's trying so hard to figure out all this crazy stuff he hears and sees, and Davis's brain has got us all pretty entertained ;)

Running in the stroller:
"Hey! Mom! There's the moon! .... Why don't I see the cows jumping over it?"

Walking to the car:
"How come I can't see my smile on my shadow?" (this one was a little tricky to explain...)

On our way to Subway, while discussing what we want on our sandwiches:
"Peppers are hot Mom. They make your head turn red."

Randomly out of the complete blue:
"Hey Mom, a stegosaurus has boney plates on his spikey back. Did you know that?"

Feeling fortunate to hear these things at all hours of the day? YES!

Your brain boost has got us all on high-alert Davis! Thank you for makin' this old bean brain rev back up, ha!

This Little Girl

This little girl... She is definitely unique. You simply have to be around her for 5 minutes and you will see that she is:

FUN, GOOFY and GORGEOUS!

ADVENTUROUS, INDEPENDENT and ON THE MOVE!

This little girl is DRAMATIC, DEAR and DYLicious!

Uncle Adam gave Dylann a pedometer for Christmas. Clearly all know this is THE BUSIEST toddler we've ever seen. I've yet to get an accurate clocking of her steps but stayed tuned for an update on that! Gooooo Dylann!

T-Ball

Davis loves sports, so it was only fitting we sign him up for a mini-camp! When I gave him the options (soccer, multi-sport or t-ball) I was not surprised he chose t-ball since he LOVES to whack things with a bat!

At Target the week before camp, he told me "I need exercise clothes for t-ball camp mom" so I let him pick out this sporty ensemble ;)

I am sooo impressed at Davis' listening skills and focus! He stares intently at Coach Kelly and tries his best. He SPRINTS during the run time and loves the structure and drills - He has a blast, even though he's slightly competitive...

I love to watch this group of kids trying so hard and having so much fun!

Davis, you are a HOMERUN! Keep up the good work! Now? Time for a water break!

P.S. Here is ball girl Dylann who SO wishes she was part of camp ;)

Random Wednesday

I didn't know what to do with the kids yesterday so we had a hodge-podge errand-a-thon and a bike ride bonanza. It's these days when we have nothing to do that end up being so memorable. We stumbled upon doggy day camp at Petco and watched this pup parade for WAY TOO LONG. The kids are complete animal lovers - Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds, fish - You name it and they think it's cute. Davis said "look Mom! This turtle is such a cutie!" - I almost felt like I should adopt a cat for the amount of time we were there and the sheer delight Dylann would have chasing one all day :)

The ride to the pier was quick and easy - Davis was sky-high in spirits and Dylann loved tagging along on my bike! We celebrated with a sandy stampede at the beach!

Once everyone's shoes/pants/pockets were stuffed with sand, we got back to biking, but the ride home was all hills and after beach exploring, poor Davis was pooped! I told him we'd be champions if we dug deep and made it home, and when we finally got there, Davis said "Mom! Now we can be champions and celebrate with a sip of water!"

Celebrate with water we did, then we all snuggled in and watched Peter Pan till Tim got home. These kids... no big frills, but it was perfect :)

Silly Dyllie & Mr. Magoo

These two have become a little slice of daily entertainment. They constantly play together, be it dolls or dinosaurs, babies or Batman. It's sooo exciting to see this friendship growing - It's just rewarding to know that your kids actually LIKE one another!

Davis helps Dylann eat rice. Dylann brings Davis his juice. Davis says "Let's go outside Dylann" and she scampers right behind him. I find them in my closet hiding under the clothes giggling. They snuggle hip-to-hip on the couch to watch a show. When Davis is at school, Dylann doesn't know what to do as the center of attention! This duo surely is dynamic, dear and doubly devious... On the Dylann end usually!

Everyone raise their hand if they love their sibling!

Train-Tastic!

All aboard! Departing San Juan Capistrano! Last stop? SANDY GO-GO!

Davis has been planning this adventure with Pop for a long time, and last week Pop and Snappy whisked Davis on a train-tastic trip to San Diego, just the three of them!

Once in San Diego, these 3 amigos explored, learned all different types of boats, ate hamburgers and rode the carousel!

How SPECIAL for Davis to get this one-on-one time with his grandparents, a train trip he'll NEVER forget! There was only one hitch... My handsome boy disappeared and who was it that returned to San Clemente? This crazy masked man!!!

Thanks for the FUN adventure Pop and Snappy!!! I love you!

Dog Days of Winter

Dylann has learned some new words in the last few weeks. Those of note are doggy, outside, sit and stop. Wonder who taught her these? Old Chavito has been our hairy houseguest and he's actually proving to be quite the babysitter, though it's Dylann who thinks she's in charge ;)

It's actually gonna be hard to say goodbye to ol' muttly... I mean geez, the kids have had a spectacular time torturing the old boy ;)

WOOF!

Christmas Top 5: #1

1. SANTA CAME!!!

And he even brought a bat mobile and the video game Davis asked for! He MUST have been a good boy ;)

And Dylann got a baby stroller and a doll house that took "Santa" WAY too long to put together with her seasoned head elf named Bill...

We were spoiled with gifts and love and had the merriest of holidays. Ho! Ho! Ho!

The only downside? Davis is STILL asking when it's Christmastime again... Really? I guess it truly is the most wonderful time of the year :)
