Climb and Cage 'Em

Well, it took Dylann 13.5 months to discover our death-trap tile stairs...


Luckily we do have a gate at the top that Davis so chivalrously SLAMS after she gets to the top...


Caged up kids that actually like to be contained? Sounds like a win-win to me!

Batter Up!

Davis is a sports nut - Kicking the soccer ball, playing catch and especially swingin' his bat! Practice was held in the living room but as he's gotten better (and Dylann's head has become a target) we hit the park for our slugger!


It's intriguing to learn Davis' sports personality - He gets frustrated when he doesn't absolutely kill the ball perfectly, but is pretty darn tenacious - I'm always the one to call the game; He'll hit and hit and hit NONSTOP and loves to learn "technique" on how to do it right. I used to try to run Davis ragged, but I learned quickly he just got in better and better shape! It was like training a marathon runner who never quit, ha!


As motivation to get our buns to the park early on a Sunday? Donuts of course! Cheerleader Dylann always likes this part ;)


Batter up big boy! You really are GOOD at sports, no joke, and I am always impressed at your enthusiasm to excel!

Cars TWO

For weeks Tim and Davis have been chomping at the bit for Cars II to come out in theaters, so Tim got tickets for opening night and we got our movie on!


I was completely astonished - Kyle, Emmi and Davis sat through all TWO HRS of the movie, and little Dyllie lasted an hour and a half eating popcorn - Even when my patience was wearing thin, the kids held on!


Davis wore all his Cars gear, down to his undies, and brought his favorite Car toys and Car fruit snacks! And cousin Tori made a special guest appearance with baby Cash in her belly, due this Fall.


Vroom! Vroom! Full speed ahead! I see many Summer movies in our future!

Her Time to Shine!

Well girlfriend, looks like it's your time to shine!


Snappy and Pop gave Dylann a "scholarship" for her birthday to sign up for some classes this summer while they watch Davis. Enter The Little Gym! Today was Dylann's first class without her big bro and she was a star! She played with balls, clapped her hands, practiced walking and met new friends.


It did feel a little quiet with Davis missing, but I know Little Miss is ready to stand on her own two feet!


As of late she is DEFINITELY letting herself be heard! ;)

Forts Of Course!

I seriously think we build a fort every other day over here. The kids love it and I actually think I was an architect in my previous life... ;)

Dada's Desert!

All Tim wanted for Father's Day was a night in the desert...


Done! We met Grandpa HoHo and Grandma Kate at the La Quinta Resort for swimming, sun and lots of Father's Day fun...









We even visited those crazy dinosaurs you see from the 10 fwy - It was windy, weird and a little scary for Davis. Inside the brontosaurus belly (you climb in through stairs in the tail...) is a gift shop. Confused Davis simply stated "Mom, let's get outta here." HA.



Happy Father's Day Tim! You are the best Dad and our kids could not be luckier to have YOU! We ALL love you!

Dog Days of Summer

We hosted ol' Chavo at our house for about a week and WOOF! WOOF! It was funny. This old boy, who turns 10 in December, has been living the doggy life with Grandma Nonna - Swimming in her pool, lounging on gobs of grass, eating pizza and snoozing in his own bedroom, ha! We loved to have the dog here, and Dylann was thoroughly entertained peeking out the screen at him - And Davis dubbed him BFF while they disappeared into the garage playroom together ;) Oh Chavs! It was fun!

Thumbs Up!

Davis is all about the signing lately, but not the smart baby sign language thing... More like a peace sign (Grandma Nonna taught that one) and also thumbs up! After weeks of practice (he used to put his pointer fingers in the air) he FINALLY got it while Pop was on his motorcycle trip. Because Pop is the one that tried to teach him this one, Davis made me take his picture to show him "on the computer mom" - Ha! Here it is, double thumbs up Mr. D!

Our House

Our house, is a very very very fine house! Davis and Dylann, here is your first home!

We spend lots of time in our house, playing pillow forts, watching silly cartoons, playing with truckloads of toys and crazily cooped in the courtyard. Our house stays cool when it's hot and is FULL - of love of course, but also of people! The bedrooms are all taken and when we're all in the living room, we overlap ;) Our postage stamp piece of grass has gotten too small for sports, but down the street is a fun park we walk to and about 4 blocks away is the beach trail where we cruise almost daily. We can stroll to downtown for ice cream and over to Pop and Snappy's for a visit! I especially like our house because we are the first family to live in it and our memories paint the walls. It makes me laugh whenever we come home because Davis says, no fail, "We made it homie!" This address, we could love no less!

First Word...

For a few months I have been convinced, but I honestly thought I was capital CRAZY. Every single time we blow bubbles, Dylann says..... BUBBLE! I am not lying!!!


She's been doing this since 9 months old and I am just going to make it official - Her first word was bubble. Even Davis says so ;)


Dylann has an eensy, weensy, tiny vocabulary (mama, hi and bye) but then she'll bust out BUBBLE and we all cheer and laugh like she's a genius!


I love this bubbly, bouncy baby girl. Keep talkin' girlfriend - We love to hear your voice!

The Leather Chair

Davis and Dylann LOVE our leather chair. They sit in it together, usually in the morning or before bed, with their drinks and blankets. I love to watch the funny antics that ensue and see how they evolve...






These two are truly brother and sister.

The San Francisco Treat! II

Well, our trip kicked off like this: Colleen sits up in bed at 3:55am Thursday and decides it's time for the drive North to begin! 4:23am: kids loaded in car and Tim sends us on our way.

This is the only "en route" photo I snapped... Dylann chewing on a McDonald's straw, Davis complaining his shoe is falling off.


Though you'd think otherwise from this pic, the kids were A-mazing. Just 2 quick stops, lots of movies and one teeny incident with dog poop at the rest area... ;) 7 hours later we got to the Workman's house and the kids quickly got Taylor to help crib bounce their crazy out!


Staying with Sarah and Dan in San Mateo was a treat - Homecooked meals, tons of toys and lots of littles looping through the hall. Toddler Taylor is SO smart, seriously! And such a good sharer! Davis loved on her day and night and these two made fast friends :)


Sarah took us to the japanese gardens in San Mateo and we played at all the parks. She was such a trooper - 6 months pregnant and ever the hostess! We were treated to a visit to the Academy of Sciences and then.... The true highlight of the trip for Davis: THE RED BRIDGE! He talked about it for weeks and asked every single day when he'd see it and son, you surely experienced that bridge to the fullest!


We saw it from afar!


He saw it from below! He hiked near it!



Dylann even posed with that crazy bridge!


And stood with it!


And then we drove the car over it...


And a perma-grin was smothered on his face!


And then, the second most exciting thing happened on the trip... Dada came! Just in time for the LONG drive home :)


This pic kills me because it sure conveys how we all felt by the time we reached LA. Right around the airport, Davis exclaimed "You will never leave this car!"


Luckily we did finally leave the car, and man that drive was worth it!
