The kids were gems and geez, what TROOPERS! Every night in a new place and they still kept smiles on their faces! Davis loved to see animals on our drive and Dylann turned into quite the car snoozer, sleeping warm and bundled in her carseat, WHEW!
After a quick night in Santa Barbara, we spent Thanksgiving at Grandma Kate and Grandpa HoHo's cozy home in Paso Robles - We had such fun catching up with family and feasting with friends.
It was animal overload at the Atascadero Zoo Friday. Davis asked for tigers, parrots and flamingos and we were shocked to actually see these animals here... In mid-40 degree weather, what!?!
The coolest thing about Paso are all the crazy things we get to do - Fishing at Grandpa HoHo's secret pond was classic. After an off road excursion through ranches, woods and grazing cattle, we came upon a calm watering hole to cast out. HoHo gave Davis his first fishing pole and though we didn't catch a thing, we loved navigating the banks and soaking in the scenery.
I see more fishing in our future...
Back at the Dubost Cabin we started the fire and got warmed up by Ted, Sarah and Raymond! HoHo cooked a feast and we snuggled around the fire for the night - Tim, Dylann, Davis and I ALL crammed into our queen aerobed to keep warm! BURR. That was one cold (and noisy) night - With 3 dogs and some mysterious snoring by the only bearded guy in the room, it was surely memorable, ha! ;)
How cool to have your own personal horse riding instructor in the family? Sarah pulled out all the stops for Davis, who rode Cowboy the pony like an old veteran. Sarah led Davis into the big ring with the gorgeous galloping giants and little cowboy went over a couple "jumps" while Davis held on tight!

Next stop? Avila Beach to visit Uncle John, Aunt Debbie and cuzzies Cole, Kendall and Casey!
I could have played tarzan on their rope swing all day...
And big Uncle John was pretty entertaining too ;)
Davis could have played with Casey all day, and in fact, he did!
WHAT A TRIP! We are so thankful to have family, near and far and everywhere in between - But most of all we are thankful for the two little turkeys we call ours :)

ReplyDeleteColleen!! Wow what a trip. I love all the outdoor pictures, really is amazing up there. You on the rope is priceless and the one of Davis fishing by himself is one of my all time favorites. We are so happy you had a great time and are now back safe and sound in S.C!
